The Beer
Leffe Royale Mapuche is infused with the Latin vibes was sunshine of South America. There the noble Mapuche hop is cultivated exclusively for Leffe on the Patagoniam highlands of Argentina.
This degustation beer derives its complexity, subtle bitterness and zesty touches from dry hopping with those hops. This variety yields blueberry, red berry fruits, peach and apricot flavours. The dry hopping process here includes making the cold beer flow through a bed of hops, ensuring that the aromatic oils from the hop cones are preserved to the full. If hops are added at higher temperatures, some of the aromas will evaporate.
Dry hopping is done at the end of fermentation. Hops puts their stamp on the beer: it builds its character, colour, taste and identity. This is why so much attention is paid to the selection of the very best hop varieties for the Leffe Royale degustation beers.
Leffe Royale is a brand name for a collection of unique degustation beers in which specific hop varieties take centre stage. The Leffe Royale range also includes Cascade IPA, Mount Hood, Crystal and Whitbread Golding.
The brewery’s traditional range comprises Leffe Brune, Blonde, Triple, Ruby, Radieuse, Nectar and Bière de Noël.
