The best of Belgium - St Bernardus and cheese photo on a canvas print
Since 1992, this St Bernardus could no longer be described as a true Trappist ale, since the brewing itself did not take place within the walls of a monastery. However, it is of Trappist origin, as is the cheese which was made available commercially before the ale in order to provide income for the monks. Naturally the brews and the cheese complement each other very well, and this photo features the strong (10%) dark flagship St Bernardus product, the Abt 12 quadrupel.
