The 'middle brother' of the Westvleteren trio of beers, the 8 is an amber-red beer with a blue bottle cap. As there's no label on any of the Abbey's beers, the cap colour becomes important - and all the necessary information and ingredients of the beer are printed on the caps. As secretive and under-played as ever, the recipe that the Trappist monks use to make this beer is closely guarded and never made public.
