Amber-Coloured Belgian Abbey Beer
The Beer
Amber-coloured abbey beer, Leffe Radieuse, surprises with its refined touches of citrus fruits and spices. This degustation beer produces rich and earthy aromas while orange peel, coriander seeds and roast malt release fruity and zesty impressions.
Herbs and spices have been a regular feature of the Belgian beer landscape for many years. Towards the end of the Middle Ages, the journeys of discovery to India and beyond established the spice route from East to West. Flavours such as orange peel and coriander crept into the brewing world slowly but surely. Beer drinkers soon became accustomed to citrusy touches. And it is no coincidence that coriander turned into a well-known brewers’ ingredient, with its taste echoes of several flavour elements that can be found in hops.
Leffe Radieuse is a strong degustation beer, full of character, and mild and fruity at the same time. In one word: complex. This beer stands up well when served with dishes or cheeses with strong, distinctive tastes.
In addition to Leffe Radieuse the brewery’s range includes Leffe Brune, Blonde, Triple, Ruby, Rituel 9°, Royale Whitbread Golding, Royale Cascade IPA, Royale Mapuche, Royale Mount Hood, Royale Crystal, Nectar and Bière de Noël.

Ingredients

Colour & Transparency
Leffe Radieuse is an amber-coloured beer with a fine pearlisation, with tiny bubbles below a robust white head.
Serving Temperature
5-7°C / 41-45°F
Serving Glass
The Leffe beers are served in an elegant, engraved chalice on a tall stem. Its bowl shape allows the aromas to develop to the full. The letter ‘L’, engraved at the bottom of the glass, makes sure that the bubbles keep coming, keeping the head up for longer.
Character, Tastes & Aromas
Aromas of orange peel, coriander seeds and roast malt give a lovely balance to the Leffe Radieuse. The hop bitters makes themselves felt in the taste without being dominant. With every sip, this beer reveals a little more of its complex character.
Culinary
We recommend Leffe Radieuse in pairing with refined dishes, a fillet of lamb for example, and a variety of cheeses including Brie, Bleu des Moines, Roquefort, cheeses containing nuts, and very mature cheeses.
Keeping and Storage
The bottled beer will keep for two years. Store it in a cool and dark place at a temperature of between 10°C and 15°C.
