On popping the cork powerful aromas of roast malt are set free. This ‘dark tripel’ owes its mild and subtle character to the cane sugar that is a powerful presence felt all the way through to the finish.
Its ruby-red colour gives an impression of majesty befitting its rank.
This brewery’s range also includes the Triple Blond, Strong Dark and Récolte. The Waterloo beers commemorate the world-famous battle fought in 1815 between the troops of Wellington, Blücher and Napoleon Bonaparte.
The historic Ferme de Mont Saint-Jean, that found itself on the edge of that epochal battlefield, is now home to a brand new microbrewery where all these beers are produced.
This square farmhouse served as a field hospital during the battle, treating injured British soldiers. These days, you can tour the brewery and visit a museum dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo.

The aromas reveal all the gradations of the roast malt, complemented with impressions of fermented cane sugar.
This elegant character beer with its slight CO2 content will amaze you with its flavours of mocha, bitter chocolate and liquorice root with a finish enhanced by impressions of wood.
This beer is a perfect match for desserts such as a suikertaart (a Flemish sugar tart) or a crème brûlée, but also feels at home with a foie gras in a jelly made with Cuvée Impériale.
Keeping and Storage
Waterloo Cuvée Impériale can be stored in the bottle for up to 24 months. On tap it will keep for nine months.
