Dark Tripel

The Beer

The words ‘cuvée’ and ‘impériale’ instantly take us to higher realms. We expect nothing less than a full-mouthed degustation beer, an all-conquering brew!

On popping the cork powerful aromas of roast malt are set free. This ‘dark tripel’ owes its mild and subtle character to the cane sugar that is a powerful presence felt all the way through to the finish.

Its ruby-red colour gives an impression of majesty befitting its rank.

This brewery’s range also includes the Triple Blond, Strong Dark and Récolte. The Waterloo beers commemorate the world-famous battle fought in 1815 between the troops of Wellington, Blücher and Napoleon Bonaparte.

The historic Ferme de Mont Saint-Jean, that found itself on the edge of that epochal battlefield, is now home to a brand new microbrewery where all these beers are produced.

This square farmhouse served as a field hospital during the battle, treating injured British soldiers. These days, you can tour the brewery and visit a museum dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo.

In the tavern you can sample the Waterloo beers and enjoy high-quality brasserie meals.
